This is the legend:

The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona – getting its name from the legendary Ferrari  1st, 2nd, 3rd full-podium finish at the 1967 24-hour race at Daytona. It is the most iconic, if not the most important, Ferrari of the 1970s.  It is the end of the line for Ferrari’s front-engined V-12 production and the epitome of Ferrari V-12 street car / GT production from the ‘50s – ‘60s. This is the absolute last of the winning Ferrari V-12 production cars that the Ferrari reputation was built on. A car as Enzo saw fit to make. It was such a strong runner – with a 174 mph top speed – (in 1969!!) – that it went on to win its class at Daytona in 1979 – more than five years after it had gone out of production!  Designed by Leonardo Fioravanti from Pininfarina – whose timeless designs also include the Ferrari 365 GT4, 512 BB and 512BBi Boxers, the 308/328 series and the Ferrari F-40 super car. In this era, Fioravanti and Pinifarina created gorgeous timeless designs. Add the unreal Ferrari chassis and 352 HP V-12 motor – with 6 Weber carbs, full dual exhaust and a slick shifting gated 5-speed to the mix and you can see how all of this made this car the legend that it is today.  In 1971 Road and Track said, “Is it the best track car? Is it the best street GT? – it’s both!”  I don’t know how to say it any better. This is a car to be worshipped.

The Details:

This particular car is a very late production / high serial number car – (I have never see one with a higher serial number offered for sale in the last 10 years!)  Built in June of 1973, with production for the 365 GTB/4 ending in July, this makes it truly the end of the line.  This car is finished in Nero – Black, with matching Nero – Black interior with Red “Daytona” trim on the seats and door panels. Car is tight, runs strong and presents extremely well.  There are receipts from the same well-known Ferrari mechanic for the last 15 years. (Steve Mastraonni – Auto Turismo and Sport – New Milford, CT.) Engine compartment is detailed – including its original A.I.R. emissions system pump and OEM Dinoplex ignition system. It has also had a recent top end motor rebuild from the block up, with new valves, guides, seals, heads re-done, rebuilt carbs, a new original Ansa exhaust and more! – this car runs like and sounds like the legend it is. It is super strong; super smooth.  This car is a joy to drive.

The interior “pops” with new “mouse-fur” on the dash – (installed by Johann at Coachtrim, Danbury, CT.) – excellent leather on the seats and doors in truly classic and unique colors - black / red. Black carpets with Wilton Black with Red Cavalino wool logo mats.  It is complemented by the factory A/C and an aftermarket stereo. Car is on original Cromodora wheels with correct and original Michelins. Suspension and underneath the car is clean / original and detailed. The original jack and tool roll are present, as well. This car was invited to, driven to and shown at the Greenwich Concours in 2018, 2015 and in 2012. Car is in currently in process with the Ferrari factory’s “Classiche” certification program.

We welcome your inquiries on this car and can happily answer any questions that you might have - as I have been the owner of this car for the last 15+ years!
