1975 BMW Cafe Racer                 "Custom"

 AKA "Maroon 5": Based on a numbers-matching 1975
BMW R75/6, built right here in our shop with great skill and care.

Our passion for motor vehicles is not limited to the 4-wheeled variety, we love European motorcycles too, as you see here.

This is a recently completed custom Cafe Racer based on a numbers-matching 1975 BMW R75/6, built right here in our shop with great skill and care. The donor bike sat long forgotten in a warm but dusty basement and was rescued by us through a chance encounter with its original owner while dining in a crab shanty in Bar Harbor, Maine. While its original paint, seat and perishables were derelict, its bones were in great shape, so we decided that it deserved a new life as a cool street machine. The inspiration came from the legendary BMW factory works RS54 racer, with a modern twist, and with street riding features in mind.

The drive train has 22,000 original miles on it, which means

it's barely broken in. These boxers are well known for traveling over 100,000 miles before needing major service. Many new OEM and NOS parts were used on this build, mostly sourced from MAX BMW, Bob's BMW, Stephanie Meyers and Ulis Motorradladen in Germany. Everything on this bike has basically been refurbished, and works as it should. The engine, trans and rear drive is basically factory stock for reliability. The custom subframe is made of welded DOM steel tubing and welded to the main frame for rigidity.

The seat was custom madefor us by Sargent Cycle. The rear shocks are air-charged adjustable type. The gas tank and fenders are painted with urethane single-stage catalyzed paint, and shine brilliantly. The fuel cap is a custom aluminum monza racing style cap that is vented and gasketed to the tank. All fluids have been recently changed and the front fork rebuilt. The rear fender is a steel BMW fender from a Slash 2 and rides with the swingarm. Sidestand is a heavy duty Flanders unit, much safer and easier to use than the factory original. The new Odyssey battery has been relocated to a secure location below the transmission so it's out of the way.

It has fully functioning turn signals, headlight with european style off/hi/low beam, horn, electric starter, rear view mirrors, great tires, great brakes....everything you need to safely pilot this incredible custom street racer. The engine fires right up and the bike runs out great, the 5-speed transmission shifts as smooth as any airhead.

This is a ride-ready custom cafe racer that has been built with a lot of attention to detail in both the aesthetic and the performance aspects.

Priced to sell, this beautiful custom
machine is available now.

Don't miss it!
