1988.5 Ferrari 328GTS

Beautiful red/cream!

$89,000

Introduced at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 328 is the final evolution of the 308 GTB that debuted at the 1975 Paris Motor Show. The heartbeat of these cars is provided by an all-aluminum, transversely mid-mounted V-8 with bulletproof Nikasil cylinders, exerting all of its 260HP to the blacktop through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Its lack of power steering, power brakes, cup holders, navigation systems and other attention-robbing gizmos is what endears these cars to enthusiasts who want to actually DRIVE their classic sports cars and enjoy the road. Achieving total motorsport consciousness is a high that cannot be described, it can only be experienced. And experiencing one of these cars should be on everyone’s wish list. It’s time for your wish to come true, isn’t it? If you’re ready, buckle up because here’s your opportunity…!

This is the last of the “analog Ferraris” having no computer-controlled this or that,  antilock braking system, or any of those maintenance intensive “features," but featuring all of the refinements of the fully evolved model and, most visibly, the coveted convex 16-inch alloy wheels.

The car's body was still built largely by hand in the Scaglietti shop, with steel panels and a removable black vinyl-wrapped fiberglass roof panel, with fully incorporated bumpers unlike the earlier cars.

History:

Enrique Senior, curator of the Ferrari-focused Senega Museum Collection and senior judge on the International Advisory Council for the Preservation of the Ferrari Automobile, says this about the 328; "The 328 is the simplest and most reliable Ferrari ever built." Those are pretty powerful words!

This particular 328 GTS has been driven a mere 34,000 miles since new. Obtained from the collection of a prominent Ferrari Club of America member, the car sports its beautiful Rossa Corsa exterior over a straight and dent-free body, with Crema interior. All shut lines are beautiful, as straight and smooth as any we’ve seen. A lower body respray is virtually undetectable having been expertly applied. The interior is like new, showing only very minor wear at the driver’s seat bolster. The car starts on command with no smoke and no odd noises. The transmission shifts smoothly with no evidence of a worn synchro. The engine bay and the undercarriage are clean, commensurate for a car with only 34,000 miles. This car is in near perfect condition as evidenced by the photos. We say “near perfect” because it is not a new car; it has been and is currently driven, and as such a blemish here or there may be found by microscopic inspection. This is without a doubt one of the nicest examples available, a collector quality, investment quality Ferrari that has neither been abused nor restored. The original tool kit, owner’s manual, and jack are included, as are all receipts included from its last major service less than 1,000 miles ago. A timing belt and water pump service will be completed prior to sale by local and world renown Ferrari specialist shop - Auto Turismo and Sport in New Milford, CT. How’s that for peace of mind?

Fulfill your dream of ownership now.  Confidently offered for $89,000
