1965 Superformance MkIII - COBRA 427 S/C -
Superformance is the constructor of the highest caliber COBRA kits in the world. Based in South Africa with over 500 professional craftsmen, many with decades of race car / COBRA construction experience, all working to bring you the finest and most exacting COBRA replica. The cars have been approved by Carroll Shelby and his exacting standards have more than been met! Superformance uses the highest quality materials and parts to construct a modern and complete COBRA super car! The look is 1965 "exact" but the performance and safety are up to date. Fully independent front and rear adjustable suspension, Wilwood disc brakes, modern BFG radial tires, 2"x4" tubular steel parallel ladder frame with front and rear crumple zones, aluminum radiator and frame,TIG welded exhaust header pipes with jet coat exhaust, adjustable foot pedal box and the highest quality hand laid fiberglass bodies with the best base / clear coat paint and final fit and finish in the business. These are simply the best and most respected COBRA kits being manufactured. I'm actually uncomfortable using the words "kit" or "replica" when describing Superformance's products!
This particular Superformance MKIII COBRA 427 S/C was constructed in 2001 and assigned continuation serial number SP-00963. The current mileage is ONLY 5,300 miles! I have known this car since new, as it was owned by my friend and next door neighbor. Every time he started it up and drove past my house I stopped whatever I was doing just to watch it thunder on by! It is finished in the quintessential COBRA colors of Royal Blue with Wimbledon White stripes and Black Leather interior. Every piece of paper work, all of the service records and love and care that went into my neighbor's ownership experience is here. Oil and filter was changed every year - regardless of how few miles the car had been driven. Service was entrusted to a great mechanic who giggled every year when doing the annual inspection and service!
